Sawan perspective for residents of Drenges village, Kertosono, Nganjuk Regency

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe and reveal the sawan perspective for Drenges villagers. This research was conducted using qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach. This research was conducted in Drenges Village, Kertosono District, Nganjuk Regency based on sawan that occurred in local resident. There were four informants in this study, with the characteristic of having direct experience of sawan, the closest relatives of people affected by sawan, and traditional birth healer who can handle sawan. Collecting data using interviews, observation and documentation. The result of the study are sawans occur due to shock, upset, and impressed. Another reason is the existence of spirits approaching people who have sawan. The feeling that accompanies people affected by sawan is feeling afraid. Handling is done to people who have sawan by carrying out medication or methods with them and even handling is also carried out by traditional birth healer and prevention of sawan is carried out in a way that in the afternoon before Maghrib the childern do not leave the house to play.
