Abstract

This research aims to determine the implementation Elementary School Literacy Movement. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Setting The research was carried out at Glagah State Elementary School, Yogyakarta. The research objects are school principals, teachers and students. Research data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction, data description presentation, and conclusions. Checking Data Validity: technical triangulation and source triangulation. The results of this research show that the implementation of GLS at SDN Glagah has gone well, as can be seen from the various activities that support GLS, the provision of infrastructure, and the enthusiasm of students in participating in literacy activities. GLS activities are supported by all parties, including school principals, teachers, students, parents and the Education Department. However, in implementing GLS there are also several obstacles, namely limited time and infrastructure that still need to be improved. These obstacles do not limit the school community in implementing GLS because this activity is a literacy effort for students to enjoy reading and writing.
