Pemberdayaan petani kelapa desa Simpang Empat Kecamatan Tangaran Kabupaten Sambas dengan teknologi mesin defibering coconut

Abstract

One of the potential natural resources in the plantation sector of Simpang Empat village, Tanggaran District, Sambas Regency is coconut. In this village, most of the coconuts are sold to collectors in the form of shelled (uncoated) coconuts while the stripped coconut husk is left in the garden area or be burned. Coconut waste is classified as a wasted potential resource. The amount of coconut coir waste is a potential that should be utilized by coconut farmers in Simpang Empat Village, to increase family income. Defibering machine is very helpful in facilitating the process of separating coir into fibers and powders. With this machine, farmers can easily process coconut coir into various other products that have economic value. This community service program in Simpang Empat Village begins with the design of a coconut coir defibering machine at the mechanical workshop of the Sambas State Polytechnic, then continues with a demonstration of using machine, maintenance and ends with handing over the machine to partners.
