Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of creativity of fifth grade elementary school students in learning batik seen from indicators of attitude, performance, product innovation and knowledge. This type of research is quantitative. The subjects of this study consisted of fifth grade students and sixth grade students of Muhammadiyah Wirobrajan II Elementary School Yogyakarta. Collecting research data using a questionnaire method. The research population was fifth grade students at the Muhammadiyah Wirobrajan II school, Yogyakarta, for the 2021/2022 academic year, which opened 40 students with saturated sampling. Based on the results of the analysis of the level of creativity, the highest frequency was obtained as much as 48% in the moderate category, the innovation rate obtained by 43% in the high category, the product innovation level obtained the highest frequency 43% in the high category, the innovation rate obtained the highest frequency 45% in the high category . It is recommended that there be additional batik material so that students are more familiar with various types of batik designs and techniques, increase practice time, and improve batik practice facilities, as well as introduce various finished batik products through field studies.
