One of the hopes of parents is to build discipline in children. Many ways are used to foster discipline, one of the practices that often occurs is by threatening to deprive a child of his rights if he does not comply with the rules. However, it turns out that threatening children is not the best solution in building discipline, instead it will traumatize children and do things beyond their control (wild) and lose motivation in themselves. One of the better ways to teach discipline to children is by applying positive discipline. This study aims to foster self-motivation in students through positive discipline, which will have a positive impact on changing students' perspectives and behavior. This study aims to encourage student independence, increase student intrinsic motivation, develop ethics and morals, and improve academic achievement.This research is qualitative research and uses a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The data obtained is then processed and analyzed in stages as formulated by Miles and Huberman which include: data reduction, data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.The results of this study indicate that the positive discipline approach has an effect on increasing students' intrinsic motivation in learning, increasing the quality of student learning outcomes, and increasing student character development, namely having high responsibility and integrity.
