Abstrak

Textbooks are one of the important elements in the implementation of learning. The level of questions and material influences students' thinking. The purpose of this study was to map the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in the evaluation questions in the merdeka curriculum 1st grade math textbooks published by the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2022. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The source of the data in this study was the mathematics textbooks for class 1 of the independent curriculum published by the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2022. The data collected in this study were evaluation questions containing HOTS elements contained in the mathematics textbooks for class 1 in the independent curriculum published by the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2022. Data collection in this study This method uses the method of observing, documenting and followed by note-taking techniques. Data analysis techniques using quantitative and qualitative descriptive techniques. Quantitative descriptive analysis is used to determine the percentage of HOTS in textbooks, while descriptive qualitative analysis is used to provide an overview and explanation regarding the HOTS questions that will be presented. The results of the analysis contained 53 evaluation questions which were divided into eight chapters. With details, 25% of the evaluation questions fall into the HOTS category of questions, while 75% of the evaluation questions fall into the non-HOTS category. The HOTS content that appears in the evaluation questions based on Bloom's Taxonomy is analyzing (C4) at 77%, evaluating (C5) 0%, and creating (C6) 23%.
