Abstrak

The aim of this study was to describe literacy activities carried out using literacy dice as teaching media in improving the speaking skills of elementary school students in lower grades. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. The informants or resource persons for this research consisted of teachers and second grade students at SD Negeri in Sleman. Data collection techniques in this study used interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses an interactive model with the steps of data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. The results of the research conducted show that the use of literacy dice media can improve the speaking skills of low grade students in elementary schools. Students are given a stimulus video of archipelago tales, then students in groups play the literacy dice. On the side of the dice
