Abstrak

The aims of this study was to improve the learning outcomes of fifth grade students at SD Negeri Ayah through the application of the Problem Based Learning method and Audiovisual media. This type of research is classroom action research consisting of two cycles with four stages, namely action planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were fifth grade students at SD Negeri Ayah with a total of 19 students, 11 girls and 8 boys. Quantitative data were obtained from the learning outcomes of class students which were taken through giving tests (evaluations) at the end of each cycle on learning the human respiratory system material, while qualitative data were in the form of observational data on teacher teaching skills and student learning activities. The results showed that there was an increase in students' knowledge competence in cycle I showing an average of 67.36 with 57.89% completeness. Experiencing an increase in cycle II by obtaining an average score of knowledge competence of 78.47 with classical completeness of 89.47%. The conclusion of this study is that the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model can improve the learning outcomes of fifth grade students at SD Negeri Ayah.
