Abstrak

This research was prompted by the low reading comprehension of students at SDN Jogosimo, Klirong District, Kebumen Regency. The causative factors are students' lack of interest and activity in reading, the existence of gaps in students' skills, and lack of habituation from school. Low reading comprehension affects the low learning outcomes of students. The solution that can be applied is by getting used to reading books and supplementing facilities and infrastructure to support literacy. Teachers can apply models, strategies, and learning methods that are appropriate for students. This study aims to improve students' reading skills using the learning innovation SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) combined with the lessons of Ki Hadjar Dewantara Tri-N (niteni, nirokke, nambahi). The research method used was a qualitative method with 27 fifth grade students as the subject of the research: data analysis, data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. Techniques for data collection obtained from observation, testing, interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that the Tri-N based learning innovation SQ3R can significantly improve students' reading skills.
