Implementation of Online-Based Learning With Zoom Meeting Media on Studens in SMK Negeri 1 Simpangkatis

Online Learning, Student Independence, Zoom Meeting


Our country is being hit by a major disaster, namely COVID-19, which is affecting humans all over the world. The Indonesian state must be vigilant, for that citizens are expected to carry out activities at home and maintain a distance to slow the spread of covid 19. The COVID-19 pandemic has made various changes in every aspect of life, one of which is education. The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted the learning process directly. So a solution is needed to answer this problem. Online learning is one alternative that can overcome this problem. Online learning encourages the emergence of social distancing behavior and minimizes the emergence of student crowds so that they are considered to reduce the potential for the spread of Covid-19 in the school environment. However, in practice there is a lack of supervision of students, a lack of strong signal in remote areas, and the high cost of quotas. This is a challenge for students in participating in online learning. For this reason, the government and universities must make policies that support students in participating in online learning. On the other hand, increasing learning independence, interest and motivation, the courage to express ideas and questions are other advantages of online learning. This study aims to explain the independence of students in online learning at SMK Negeri 1 Simpangkatis, during the COVID-19 pandemic which is increasingly widespread in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative approach through interviews and field observations. Therefore, a learning application using zoom meeting as an online learning model at SMK Negeri 1 Simpangkatis in class X using a zoom meeting on a Smartphone (android), the zoom meeting application is the best solution for teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic, will be very helpful in conducting online learning at the current education level.
