Analisis Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Peserta Didik Kelas VII Dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Materi Aritmatika Sosial

This research aims to describe students' mathematical problem solving abilities (KPMM) in Social Arithmetic material. The research method used is qualitative descriptive research. The research subjects were 22 students in class VII.3 of SMP Negeri 1 Rambah. The data collection technique was carried out using a description test. The test instrument used is a test question based on mathematical problem solving ability with 4 indicators according to Hamzah in the social arithmetic material, sub-chapter, advantages and disadvantages. The mathematical problem solving indicators used are understanding the problem, planning the problem, applying problem solving strategies and checking the correctness of the results. The results of this research show that students' mathematical problem solving abilities on the indicators of understanding problems are 62.65%, planning problems 43.53%, applying problem solving strategies 41.22%, and re-checking the correctness of the results 51.79%. Based on the research results, it shows that students are not used to working on non-routine problems such as mathematical problem solving questions, so students need to get used to working on non-routine problems, especially those that can train students' mathematical problem solving abilities.
