Analisis Kesalahan Siswa dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Relasi dan Fungsi Berbasis Kecakapan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa Fase D

This research aims to determine and describe the type of Newman's Error of students in answering relationship and function questions based on phase D students' mathematical communication skills. The type of research is qualitative with descriptive methods. The research subjects were 34 students of SMP Negeri 1 Kampar class VIII A. Data were collected using test and interview techniques. Data processing and analysis using the Miles and Huberman technique consists of 3 stages, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results of the research showed that: Overall student errors in solving problems based on mathematical communication skills in relation and function material in the high category experienced process skill errors and notation/writing errors as many as 8 students. Overall, students with moderate and low mathematical communication skills experienced comprehension errors, transformation errors, processing skills errors and notation/writing errors as many as 26 students. Students with high mathematical communication skills had the highest percentage of process skills errors at 62.50%. Students with moderate mathematical communication skills had the highest percentage of process and notation or writing skills errors as much as 62.50%. Students with low mathematical communication skills had the highest percentage of transformation errors, processing skills and notation or writing errors at 8.33%.
